Deliver Me From Heaven

deliver me from heaven

if it is indeed the gated

haven of the smug who’ve

earned the harp, the fluffy

cloud, the segregation

from the undeserving;

set me instead with those

who stumble hopefully

because they’ve learned

there is a gate that gladly

opens wide to any beggar’s

hopeful touch
