Ana Lisa de Jong

Ana Lisa de Jong is an Auckland poet, writer and administrator for the New Zealand Defence Force Chaplaincy team.

She says that she is ‘inspired by her love of God, the written word, art, nature, and people’. In her 40’s she was drawn back to writing and, feeling affirmed by the prayers and prophetic confirmations from others around her, she found herself ‘bursting forth on a ‘river of words’’. This led to many hundreds of poems being written, culminating in the publication of a series of three volumes of poetry between 2014 and 2016.

Published by Lang Book Publishing, her Poetry for the Soul series, includes Songs in the Night, Hope Springs and Seeking the Light. Her grace-filled words have touched and encouraged many as she finds the spiritual in everyday life, revealing the loving heart of God towards each one of us.

Ana Lisa says that she is ‘waiting on God for her next book’ and continues to write daily, for her own benefit and to encourage others. Her reflections and poetry are published on her websites and Facebook pages. She is also contributes to Godspace, other on-line websites and publications such as the Refresh Journal of Contemplative Spirituality.
